Break into the tech industry with BreakLine
Our Employer of the Week series features one company each week that has made a commitment to hiring and supporting veterans. This week’s employer is BreakLine.
BreakLine is an education for employment company that helps transitioning veterans find a path to careers in tech with immersive education programs and hands-on support. The small team of nine comes from backgrounds in higher education, the Air Force, start-ups, Capitol Hill, and more — and they know how to find the right career for you.
"The technology industry is eager for diverse talent and veterans have the skills they need," BreakLine's CEO Bethany Coates said. "BreakLine is uniquely positioned to bridge that gap and connect these two communities that can greatly benefit from one another."
BreakLine offers nine in-person programs a year and one remote program. The programs bring together industry experts, distinguished faculty, recruiters, hiring managers, and BreakLine alumni to share experiences and knowledge. Some of the programs are hosted by large tech companies looking to support the veteran community like BMC Software.
Beyond these programs, BreakLine provides other forms of support to veterans at every step of the way including resume and LinkedIn reviews, one-on-one coaching, interview preparation, networking, personal brand refinement, and translation of military roles. And once veterans complete BreakLine's program, they have a community for life.
"BreakLine was founded on the idea that there is talent everywhere, not just in traditional tech recruiting paths," said Coates. "The military is best in class when it comes to building extraordinary teams and people, so we thought who better to look to when it comes to identifying leaders."
