Accenture is 1,352 veterans away from its hiring goal — help them help you
Our Employer of the Week series features one company each week that has made a commitment to hiring and supporting veterans. This week's employer is Accenture.
Accenture provides professional services from strategy to technology to operations for companies around the globe. With offices in more than 200 cities in 51 countries, Accenture's 505,000 employees live in a diverse range of locations and have a wide range of skills — which means there's a spot for any veteran interested in joining the team.
"We're going to hone the skills you do have and add in new skills you need — or we'll train you in a completely new technology if you're willing," said retired Maj. Gen. George Franz, managing director of Defense Cybersecurity at Accenture. "You've got that ability — a willingness to learn and we're happy to help you do that."
Before the end of 2020, Accenture has committed to hiring 5,000 veterans — so far, the company has successfully hired 3,648. The company's veteran programs do not end with hiring initiatives, however.
Accenture also has employee resource groups, veteran integration programs, and training programs for active duty service members to assist with all stages of the transition. It was one of the first global companies to partner with Salesforce, training 71 veterans on a range of technology platforms in 2019 and 2020. The company has been recognized as a Military Friendly Employer for six consecutive years.
"While our veterans aren’t looking for handouts I think we owe them...to help them make that transition," Franz said. "I think we owe our veterans thanks."
